January 16th at 7:30 PM
A Celtic FEAST will be first time guests at the
Chapel this year. This instrumental Celtic ensemble is
pushing the frontiers of excitement in Irish and
Classical music. With the unusual combination of
violin, cello, piano and drum set, they deliver a FREE
rocking show that connects deeply to audiences. All
members are classically trained musicians and many
have performed and toured internationally as
acclaimed soloists. Virtuoso temperaments and
symphonic texture characterizes the awesome sound
of FEAST. This January, FEAST is offering a very
special concert: guest artist, Elise Helmke, will join
the ensemble on the great concert harp. A virtual
wall of gorgeous string sound, sensuous harp
sonorities, a battery of gutsy percussion instruments
and dazzling costumes will make this an incredible
evening to remember for the whole family!
February 13th 7:30 PM Jan Lisiecki Piano
Concert sponsored by Larry & Margaret
Marsland and Bob & Judi Loubier
Piano Recitalist, Jan Lisiecki is returning to the
Snowmass Chapel to perform a FREE Piano
Concert. Last summer, Jan delivered an outstanding
recital at the Chapel to a full house, after being named
the Champion of the Junior Division of the Virginia
Waring International Piano Competition. At age 13,
Jan is making a name for himself on the international
stage. He has performed 25 times with orchestras in
the USA, Canada, England, and Poland. In August
2008, Jan will be performing with Sinfonia Varsovia
with Howard Shelley conducting, at the prestigious
International Festival “Chopin and his Europe,” in
Warsaw Poland. He is invited by Pinchas Zukerman
to New York where he will have a recital in
December 2008. Jan had his Carnegie Hall debut on
May 18, 2008.
March 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22
Fri & Sat. at 7:30 PM, Sun at 2:00 PM
A brand new event this year on the Chapel Cultural
Series will be the production of a Theatre Event.
John Goss will be directing a production of Forever
Plaid. One of the most popular and successful
musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy
revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed
in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big
concert, and now miraculously revived for the
posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform
the show that never was. Singing in the closest of
harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest
intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish
choreography with over-zealous precision, the
“Plaids” deliver a program of some of the great
nostalgic pop hits of the '50s.
Tickets are $15 for Adults; $10 for Students with
Student ID (If over 18)
April 12 at 9:00 AM
